Health & Safety and Disability Discrimination Act

The government implemented Part III of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) on the 1st October 2004. This includes the requirement for any person or organisation of entity, concerned with the provision of services (including goods and facilities) to the public within the UK, to employ physical adaptations, including the provision for auxiliary aids such as Braille and embossed signs, in order to make goods, facilities and services more accessible to disabled people.

The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAW), the primary piece of legislation covering occupational health and safety in the UK, dictates that employers have a duty of care with regard to the health and safety of their employees and risks to health & safety in connection with the activities of people at work. This includes the provision of such information as is necessary to ensure the health & safety of employees.

Havant Signs & Plastics can help you ensure you provide all the relevant signage in and around your organisation. We provide a large range of Health & Safety signs (including fire exit, no smoking and warning signs), as well as Braille and tactile signage allowing you to welcome your disabled customers and protect your staff.

HSP Plastics prides itself in offering a quality bespoke service to all its clients, so please contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
